"...No. [Miss Melanie laughs hard.] I don't have to be on horseback. Yeah, it's interesting how that came about. I do a lot of work with police reform, mental health reform, and anti-racism.
And so as part of that, I decided I would run for a law enforcement position and go through all the training and kind of be in it -- but not necessarily of it.
In Pennsylvania -- 'cause everywhere is different -- we serve at the pleasure of the court, which is an odd way of saying you can serve papers. Some constablez serve eviction notices -- that's not my jam. What else? I can do mental health transports which is part of the reason I got involved. Prisoner transport. Levies on property.
No, it'd be really rad if I rode a horse. But, I have to pay for everything myself. So I can't afford a horse..."
